Sisters Eryn and Darci Gormley recently did themselves and their families proud in their singing exams. The whole FAM team is delighted for them too, especially their tutor Victoria Warwick.
All the hard practice paid off when the glowing results of Eryn and Darci’s Singing Primary Grade exam came through...
The sisters sang Seagull by Lynn Marsh, a song that depicts the flowing movements of the bird in the sky. While the piano plays the role of the bobbing sea waves, the voice soars above energetically pulsing a to-and-fro lilt.
Next, the candidates sang Michael Finnigan, a popular traditional American tune. Its comical style is a fun sing for young voices!
The girls opted for Disney pieces to match their personalities and preferences as their final song choice. Eryn rose to the challenge of Peter Pan’s Second Star to the Right with its lullaby, dreamy quality.
Darci rounded off the exams with a vibrant performance of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo. This song requires showmanship with its bouncing triplet rhythms and playful text.
Congratulations, ladies! Just last weekend, Eryn and Darci were performing onstage - singing and dancing at The Snowman Christmas Special in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin. This is a huge production to be involved in and a daunting stage to perform on, but there's no doubt Eryn and Darci are bringing their talent and commitment to the company.
There's no stopping them! Watch out for this fantastic sibling duo in future...
