The next month and a half is possibly the busiest time of the year for musicians. On top of all our fantastic winter performances - including our Choral Christmas Concert in Malahide on 12 December and Carols by Candlelight with Cór Fingal on 17 December in the beautiful Seapark Carmelite Convent. Both these events will sell out, so please book early!
Many of our amazing music educators wear any hats, all multi-coloured with countless tassels. One of those truly amazing people is Eoin Conway, director of Fingal Youth Choir and accompanist for Fingal Children's Choir. Eoin also arranges choral works for our youth choirs as well as the Workplace Choirs programme at the Irish Institute of Music and Song.
Eoin is also an esteemed performer, pianist and countertenor of various musical genres. He is well-known for barbershop quartet, award-winning 4 IN A BAR. Eoin, Tristan, Paul and Shane are proud holders of the IABS International Male Voice Quartet Award (and five-time Gold Medal winners). They combine a passion for close harmony singing with their interest in ancient, classical, Irish traditional, barbershop and pop music.
For this special time of the year, 4InaBar will take our hands and explore periods and countries as diverse as Renaissance Spain, Baroque Germany, the U.K. and traditional Ireland with plenty of Christmas favourites; crooner classics by the fireside and songs for the kids.
All wrapped in a bow of good humoured banter and craic for adults and children alike! This fantastic concert takes place on Sunday 1 December in the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin, Dublin, just a few short weeks away.
Another of one of brilliant music tutors is multi-instrumentalist and singer Andrew Dempsey, who tutors guitar, singing and drums with us at Fingal Academy of Music. He is performing at a Christmas concert on 18 December on Dawson Street in Dublin's city centre.
Ranging from classical to contemporary, jazz to pop and of course some old Christmas favourites too, Classics At Christmas will featuring renowned soprano Rebecca Winckworth, multi-instrumentalist Andy Dempsey, award-winning violinist Denice Doyle, cello extraordinaire, David Doyle and special guests the Fantastic Trinitones all-male a capella popular group!
